“Growing Garden was my daughter's first school experience, and it's amazing. She had never left parents before, so it was hard at the beginning — but every afternoon she was so happy that she refused to go home. The head teacher, Jessie, had magic ways to calm down and cheer up these little guys. Every morning Jessie would prepare a different game for the kids. The environment was great: the interior warm and delicate but not childish, and the garden so beautiful with room to play, plant, or read books.”

“Growing Garden is my son's first school. He was 3 and had never been to daycare before — family was his only exposure — and Growing Garden created an extension of our family's atmosphere for him. With a small teacher-to-student ratio and informal chats at pick-up, he became more persistent in art making, more focused in writing, able to tell stories confidently, and more considerate in his words and actions. I would highly recommend Growing Garden to any parents looking for a loving environment for their growing children.”

“This is an amazing school! Jessie, the Director/Teacher, created a warm, caring yet stimulating environment where our son has really developed in just a few months. His vocabulary and engagement have improved tremendously, and he has learned about boundaries and sharing. We especially appreciate the variety of nutritious meals the kids help make — sometimes using ingredients from their very own garden! Jessie is enthusiastic and a great communicator. I love that they cook with the kids and prepare nutritious meals on site (which he readily eats!). His vocabulary improved within weeks of starting, and we've really seen him blossom there. “Our son started here at 2.5 years after being born right at the start of Covid and never having been cared for outside the house. It was a hard transition for us all, but Jessie and Mia Mia helped him through the tough drop-offs. They go above and beyond nurturing these kids' minds and bodies — they eat well-balanced, real food and even help with the meal prep. He's learned a lot, sings us songs in Spanish, and it's been an amazing year. I wish he could stay here forever, and we'll be sending his little sister as soon as we can!”

We moved across the country, and it was very hard to leave. My son was doing so well learning to read, learning Spanish, learning to count — and he truly cared about and loved his friends there, so much of which was a reflection of how Jessie treats her students. “We would recommend Growing Garden to everyone. The children come out of this place as wonderful little people. The teachers focus on the perfect balance of social growth and age-appropriate academics — everything learned through play, song, and games, with lots of time outside. The small school (about 12 kids) means individualized care, and the teachers truly meet every kid where they're at. They've been models of gentle parenting for our family. They provide breakfast, lunch, and snack, and the kids help prepare them. The owners are SO kind and loving — we hope we're in touch with them forever.”

Our daughter started just after turning 2, and as she approaches 4 we could not be more grateful for the incredible experience Jessie and the teaching staff have provided. Jessie has created such a warm, nurturing, and inspiring environment where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn every day. We especially appreciate the thoughtful Reggio Emilia–inspired approach, which encourages creativity, curiosity, independence, and hands-on learning. My parents live far away, and each morning during breakfast we FaceTime with them and our kid, and she tells them what she's doing at school — baking, learning about seasons, taking special breaths, and singing songs in Spanish! Our daughter is so excited to be dropped off in the morning, often skipping our hug so she can race through the doors of Growing Garden.”

The intimate environment lets kids try things for themselves and grow in ways that have blown me away — she helps make breakfast, waters the plants, and takes such pride in doing things herself. “From the first visit on, I knew this was a magical place. This was the first preschool my son attended, and he absolutely loves it — no wonder he asks every morning to go! The garden, the cooking, the art projects — everything is so nicely thought out, it impresses me each time. Besides being a great place for kids to play, Jessie makes them feel welcome and loved while nurturing their natural curiosity. It was easy to choose Growing Garden; it will be much harder to say goodbye.”
